As mentioned earlier, it should be noted that hardware accelerated GPU-based PhysX support is rarely seen on games these days. Contrary to popular belief, PhysX is not dead. It is in fact the integral part of most latest gaming engines like Unreal 4, Frostbite or the Unity 3D. However, this would only be viable if the rate at which you make money mining is higher than the electricity cost of running that second GPU. The first thing you will need to make sure is if you have enough PCIe lanes to support dual graphics cards.
Secondly, you will need to make sure that you have a Power Supply Unit powerful enough to support the requirements of the two graphics cards optimally.
Lastly, you will need to have an excellent ventilation system to remove the heat generated by two graphics cards. Also, when looking into SLI, it is also worth checking out SLI compatibility of the games you want to run since not all games are supported.
Hi there. Is that true or am I mistaken? Thank you. Games randomly crashing. BSOD with newest drivers, Stuck on older ones? This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Search Join Now Login. Sort By. If this board is SLI ready with 2 PCIE x16 slots do I still need to connect the cards with the bridge connector or will the bus on the motherboard have enough bandwidth for data transfer?
Thanks it will work without the bridge but it is recommended to use the bridge as the cards will then have a direct pathway to talk to each other without having to go through the mobo  you will probably get a slight drop in performance without the bridge installed.
With due respect, Slayer is only partially correct. The cards can function without the bridge, however, the bridge is required for any notable increase. Not using the bridge would be like riding a bike as opposed to a race car. In my experience, no bridge cripples the whole point of having sli.
If you have the bridge, you might as well use one. It's really a non issue When it says the SLI connector is "not used," does that mean it reduces performance if you put it on? Also, would more than one graphics card fit on your computer? An important consideration if you have a mini gaming PC.
At that point it would be a good idea to buy another Ti, which will be super cheap because of its age, and run these two cards in SLI. Then when you are finally no longer able to play the latest games with two Ti cards, those GPUs will be several generations old, and you would be able to upgrade to the newest ones if not upgrade your whole computer. Dividing the work between two video cards also takes some effort from the CPU.
However some extreme gaming enthusiasts would not be satisfied with a single GTX Ti.
